[Literally] At The Top!

Hey there!

I recently went to At The Top, the tallest observation deck in the world!. It’s situated on the 124th floor of the tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa, Dubai!

Burj-KhalifaThis is Burj Khalifa! – Photo taken from Google

It was an absolutely stunning, once-in-a-lifetime experience!. So, let’s see some pix!

BurjKhalifaentrytktThis is my Fast Track (Let’s call it FT) ticket. FT tickets are priced at AED300 and gives you priority at the reception area and near the lifts. Regular adult entry tickets are priced at AED125. There are a lot of people visiting this place and thus FT tickets do save you a lot of time. It is definitely pricey however I am so delighted to tell you that I bought two tickets for AED115 each on Cobone, one of my all time fav couponing/deals sites!. It’s even lesser than the regular ticket!

The entry to At The Top is surprisingly situated in level LG of The Dubai Mall. First of all let me tell you that the staff there are just so amiable!. Once you enter, this is what you see: a lovely miniature form of the building itself.

BlogPix 100That long line of people you see consists of those who took the regular tickets. On the extreme right, you see a lady standing there, that’s the FT lane. That lane cuts to the right. You can’t see the people standing in front of her in this pic. There must be probably 4 or 5 people in front of her. That’s how short that lane is.

This queue leads to area that looks like it’s straight out of an airport. You have to drop your bags there and it’s scanned. You need to then walk through a metal detector. From there, you walk forward and pose for a photographer, against a green background. They later edit that and gives an amazing background to it. You can buy it if you wish to later on, once you are back from the observation deck, in different sizes with the price ranging from AED100 – AED350!.

Once the photo session is over, you step onto a 65-metre-long travelator. I loved this part!. On your right side, a multi – media presentation plays showing the history of Dubai. It’s really beautiful.

BlogPix 032chosenThis was my fav to watch.. The pearls were hovering around so beautifully!

BlogPix 033Next, you reach a spacious area. You pass by this inspiring display:

BlogPix 037chosenThen you see a souvenir from the Mission Impossible shoot, framed and displayed!.

BlogPix 039chosenNext, you get on this escalator which is pretty long and high!

BlogPix 043You straight away head to the high speed elevator to the observation deck. It’s an amazing lift. From ground to 124th level in 60 seconds!. You don’t feel any movement at all except for that pressure you feel in your ears. A music plays that builds a suspense and culminates with a bang when you reach level 124.

Then you head on over to the deck and you can see floor-to-ceiling glass walls that provide a breath-taking, unobstructed 360-degree view of the city.

Burj Khalifa has 163 floors. Once you are on the 124th floor, you can look up and see the rest of the towering structure!

There are special telescopes fixed throughout the place that was just so futuristic!. Absolutely loved how creative it is. You can focus on an area ahead of you and look at the display and view the same area as how it looks like in Daytime, Nighttime, Live (which is basically what you are looking at at that time) and Historic view, which shows that area from the past (There is barren land in most of the views and very few low rise buildings!). It was phenomenal!.

I spent about an hour there. That’s basically how much time you need to see it. There are souvenir shops on the 124th floor and also at the exit area once you reach back down to the LG level of Dubai Mall. Overall, what an amazing experience!.

Have you ever been to At The Top or would you like to go there one day?. Leave me a comment below 🙂
